Beta-Alanine is just a naturally occurring amino acid so is not cheating. It works best when combined with Creatine and most supplements work best when cycled off and on. This is due to your body become accustomed to them so you receive reduced effects from consumption. Personally I found L-Carnitine with caffeine and green tea worked best for me in terms of fat reduction and increased sport performance. It should work out cheaper also but try and see what works best for you.
